    Step 1:

    Mix shredded cheddar cheese, refined flour, carom seeds, cornstarch powder, and salt in a food processor for about 30 seconds until combined. Add butter to the mixture and process for 20 seconds until the mixture looks like wet sand. Add water and go for 10 pulses until the dough forms large clumps. (You can knead the dough as well. Add all the above-mentioned ingredients plus water and knead gently until the dough is formed. Not to mention, ensure the dough is crack-free and soft.)

    Step 2:

    Transfer the dough to a lightly floured area or surface. Divide in half and pat each dough into a 6-inch square. (No need to use a rolling pin, you can pat with your hands.) If the dough appears dry, moisten your fingers using cold water. Cautiously wrap each dough in plastic wrap & refrigerate for 45 minutes or up to two days until firm.

    Step 3:

    Once the dough is firm, preheat the microwave to 350°F (177°C). Place two large baking sheets with parchment paper.

    Step 4:

    Unwrap the dough squares. Place each dough on a lightly floured flat surface and pat it into a 9-inch square. (You can use your hands to flatten the dough). Using a knife or a pizza cutter, trim the dough into a clean 8-inch square. Slice down the square into 8 strips, each 1 inch wide. Then cut 8 perpendicular slices, each 1 inch wide. Then each 8-inch square will have 64 dough squares (crackers).
