    Preparation Method for Fish Tikka Masala Recipe

    Step 1:

    Heat oil in a pan. Add cumin seeds and cardamom seeds. Once the spices sizzle, add finely chopped onions.

    Step 2:

    Saute onion until it caramelizes. Once it turns golden brown, add ginger garlic paste and continue to fry.

    Step 3:

    Once the onion turns golden brown, add chopped tomatoes and red chili powder and cook until they turn mushy.

    Step 4:

    Blend the above using a mixer. Add the paste back to the pan and turn the flame to medium.

    Step 5:

    Add garam masala powder and water to the paste. Cover it with a lid and let it heat for 5 minutes or until the gravy thickens.

    Step 6:

    Add dried fenugreek leaves and salt as per taste. Your gravy is prepared!

    Step 7:

    Prepare a marination sauce for the fish. Add yogurt and Indian spices such as red chili powder, turmeric, salt, ginger garlic paste, lemon juice, and garam masala. Add fish cubes to the paste and keep it aside for 5-6 minutes.

    Step 8:

    Heat a non-stick pan over medium flame, adding a teaspoon of oil. Place marinade fish cubes and fry the fish until golden brown and the marinade is cooked well.

    Step 9:

    Ensure the fish is fried properly and all the spices are charred through the fish cubes.

    Step 10:

    Transfer the fried fish to your gravy. Sprinkle coriander leaves, cover it with a lid and keep it aside for 20 minutes.

    Step 11:

    Serve hot with roti/naan.
