Pav Bhaji is Indian cuisine, quite famous as Indian street food. Mainly prepared in Mumbai, India as a go-to delicious street snack, the savory dish is made using fresh, diced vegetables, authentic Indian spices, and a whole lot of love! It is served with soft pieces of bun/bread, known as Pav, and tastes best when served warm and topped with citrusy lemon juice.
The Indian snack consisting of thick vegetable curry savored with soft buns is all that deliciousness could be made of. The tantalizing aroma brings along some wholesome goodness that makes the dish score amongst one of the best-loved snack foods of all time.
Preparation Method for Pav Bhaji Recipe
Place all the vegetables (except onions & capsicum) into a pressure cooker with 1/2 cup of water and 1/2 tbsp of salt on a high flame. Once the pressure forms, turn off the burner.
Once the cooker cools down, mash the boiled vegetables until they form a thick paste.
Heat a wok with butter. Add finely diced onions and ginger garlic paste, and saute until the onions turn golden brown. (Fry for a minute)
Add finely chopped capsicums and green chilies to the sauteed onions. Fry them well together. Add pav bhaji masala and 1/2 tbsp of coriander powder. Mix well and cook till soft.
Add the mashed vegetables to the onion mix on a high flame. Stir well and let them simmer on low flame until the gravy thickens. Turn off the stove.
Squeeze some lemon juice and mix well. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve with soft buns/ pavs. Savor hot!
