How It Works:

This tangy tomato sauce pairs perfectly with chickpeas.

Sauce Ingredients: Organic Tomatoes, Organic Onions, Avocado Oil, Organic Lemon Juice, Organic Ginger, Organic Garlic, Spices, Green Chili & Salt

TIP: cut packet on three sides for easy transfer

At home you need:

  • 1 to 1.5 cans of chickpeas, drained
  • salt, we added sparingly, adjust to taste

Instant Pot Instructions

  1. Add 1 cup water, chickpeas, and then sauce.
  2. SEAL and cook on HIGH PRESSURE for 7 minutes.
  3. Once done, rest for 10 minutes and then VENT to release the remaining pressure.
  4. Open lid and mash a handful of chickpeas to thicken sauce.  Enjoy!

Stovetop Instructions

  1. Sauté chickpeas in the sauce for about 2 minutes.
  2. Add 1.25 to 1.50 cups of water to cover chickpeas. Bring to boil.
  3. Reduce heat to low, cook covered for 10 minutes, or till the chickpeas are soft.
  4. Open the lid and simmer to thicken sauce if desired.
  5. Mash a handful of beans for creamy texture. Enjoy!

Garnish with: onions, cilantro, lemon or yogurt     Serve with: poori, naan, rice or on its own
